Traveller Journal: Space Merchant's Ledger

As I wait for the Scout Captain's Rutter and the Star Traveller's Logbook to come back from proof, I started noodling on what I wanted in a Space Merchant's Ledger as another journal for Traveller players.
I'm not looking for paperwork for paperwork's sake, but a way to record important campaign information in a creative way for both the GM and players. I figured a more robust ledger for the broker, maybe important passenger information for the steward -- not just a simple log, but information capture when it matters. A more extensive ship's papers record to cover the largest merchant ships. A partnership "contract" to record ownership of the ship and/or merchant operation (I'm personally always forgetting these terms at the table). Some fun stuff: Letters of Marque and the like.

As I was searching through real-life forms for merchant marines, I ran into the Continuous Discharge Certificate. It's essentially a record of a merchant marine crewperson's service, including review of by the ship's master.
I could see this being used as either a record of character creation (terms, skills, incidents, etc.), or a continuing record of the character's assignments to certain ships providing a summary of their ongoing career.
Anyway, check this out and tell me if it's useful at the table.
